Seminar Opportunities 2018 in light of the Summer Agreement

seminaries seminars De Langhe Academy

On Thursday 9 November 2017 we were pleased to welcome many interested guests to the lunch seminar in Ghent. On the agenda was the topic about which much has been discussed the last few months: the tax opportunities for 2018 in light of the Summer Agreement.

Frank De Langhe welcomed all those present, after which Kim Bronselaer started the Summer Agreement info session with the topic “Corporate Tax Reform”.  As head of the tax department,  Kim is very familiar with all aspects of corporate taxation.  With the necessary examples, the new rules relating to rate reduction, reinvestment gains, capital decrease, capital gains on shares etc. were clearly presented.

After refilling the glasses,  Hans Decleir took the floor.  With over 20 years of experience in international taxation,  Hans knows the ins and outs of holding structures like no other.  The second theme of the seminar thus dealt with “Anti-abuse provisions and the impact on holding structures of the dividends received deduction and the withholding tax.  A theoretical component was explained with many practical examples and rulings.

The info session was concluded after a short evaluation and the distribution of the attendance certificate.  Thanks to the recognition by the Belgian Institute of Accountants and Tax Consultants (IAB-IEC) as a training operator, the participants gained not only insight but also validated training hours.

You can download the presentation as well as the ‘Summary of Corporate Tax Reform – Cabinet Minister of Finance’ here.
